| Where the Anegawa River empties into Lake Biwa, in the short period from mid-March to mid-April each year when the cherry trees are blossoming, people still fish for sweetfish using traditional yotsudeami nets. Even today, the sight of fishermen wielding their nets against a backdrop of cherry blossoms is a signature image of Lake Biwa in spring. |
