ISO100, -0.3EV Although the ecology of Lake Biwa keeps the sweetfish there from growing very big, they are prized throughout Japan, and have been released in rivers and farmed in freshwater fisheries nationwide. These prime specimens, photographed at a fishery along the spring-fed waters of the Yoshino River, in Tokushima Prefecture, are raised on a diet that keeps them lean and healthy.
