Changes in CO2 emission in logistics process
The volume of CO2 emission in the domestic distribution in FY2007 was 2,459 tons(a 22.4% increase compared to the previous year), while 106,738 tons year on year in the international distribution(a 9.8% increase compared to the previous year).
The causes of the increase are higher CO2 emissions resulting from sales growth, and improvements in the accuracy of data gathering for CO2 emissions relating to international logistical operations.
Olympus will continue to work actively to reduce CO2 emissions by monitoring the international transportation environment and targeting further improvements in packaging and transportation efficiency.
