Efforts of FY2005
The Shenzhen government took the initiative to host the "Shenzhen City Beacon Hill Tree-Planting by a Million people", and nearly 40 employees of Olympus (Shenzhen) Industrial joined in the event held in May 2005. They planted 20 trees to contribute to the city's greening.
With the theme "Let us join in the Green Color Movement to build our green hometown" for the World Environment Day,, workers collected old batteries and posted information on environmental protection on the intranet and bulletin boards to enhance environmental awareness during the company's environmental month.
The expiration date of the ISO 14001 Certification of 1996 was approaching, so each department and environmental staff worked together to revise administrative files, despite their busy schedule in the second half of the year. Due to these efforts, Olympus passed the screening to obtain the revised version of ISO 14001: 2004. Olympus Shenzhen won high praise for its energy-saving activities including efforts to turn off unnecessary lighting, use of energy-saving fluorescent lamps, and control of air conditioning systems.
