ISO14001 Certification Renewed with Zero Problems Noted
In November 2007, the Pan Yu Branch was inspected by independent experts. The inspectors gave the facility a high score and renewed its ISO14001 certification without identifying any problems.
Energy Conservation Activities
Proactive energy conservation initiatives yielded excellent results in fiscal 2007. Particularly significant was the installation of additional electric power monitors to allow better control of the use of electric power, including the timely detection and analysis of abnormalities.
Energy conservation concepts were applied to energy management for clean room air conditioning systems and the layout of various facilities. The use of air compressors in some areas was reduced, and a water circulation system was installed. Other improvements included the redesign of the water supply system.
Production Safety Award (Grade A)
Olympus (Guangzhou) Industrial Co., Ltd. (OGZ) received a production safety award (Grade A) from the government of Guangzhou City. Under a "Safety Responsibility White Paper" signed with the city government, the company has been working to improve the safety awareness and skills of its employees through various initiatives, including safety knowledge courses, fire-fighting drills and the publication of information about safety conditions. It has also reduced the risk of accidents by optimizing operating standards for machinery and electrical equipment.
