Efforts of FY2007
Olympus Optical Technology Philippines, Inc.(OPI) continues to conduct activities that promote environmental protection and awareness and actively implement voluntary activities that contribute to community.
1) OPI has successfully maintained its environmental management system according to ISO14001 standard during its surveillance audit last May 2007.
2) Organize its first Environmental Week held last Sept. 10-15, 2007. The purpose of the activity was to increase environmental awareness to all employees and on how they can contribute to the protection and preservation of environment inside and outside the company.
3) OPI participated in the Green Philippines ("Trees for life: 20 million seedling") program by the government by initiating tree planting activity in Transcentral Highway Balamban Cebu. It also conducted other environmental activities such as visit and maintenance of site in the previous Tree planting location and joining the mangrove planting activity in Catarman Cordova organized by FAMEA association last September 2007.
Also, OPI initiated community based CSR to establish good relationship with the community such as company tour by Department of Health personnel during their microscope training in Cebu last April 2007 and linkage of OPI and academe(CITE, TESDA) to implement Dual Training System giving students an opportunity to have On-the-Job training in the company.
