The past year has been a very busy year for the employees of Olympus Canada Inc. We integrated the inventory and business of the Canadian division of Gyrus/ACMI in mid year. We welcomed many new employees from Gyrus/ACMI into Olympus Canada as part of this integration. In addition to this integration we implemented the JD Edwards World ERP system into Olympus Canada during the second half of the year.

Olympus Canada takes great pride in our efforts to be a good corporate citizen and be a leader in social responsibility. During the past year Olympus Canada initiated several steps toward social responsibility and a green environment. We issued ceramic mugs to all of our employees with their names to use for hot or cold drinks and eliminated the use of styrofoam cups. Each employee received, in addition to the ceramic mug, a plastic water bottle with their name to use for cold drinks to reduce the use of paper cups at the water fountains.

Small Blue Bins were issued to each employee for use to recycle paper products and cardboard and to help reduce the amount of refuse going to land fill sites by separating these items from our garbage. These recycled materials are picked up each week and taken to a recycle facility to be reused in various areas.

April 2008, the employees of Olympus Canada held a bowling night to raise money for colon rectal cancer research. In November 2008 Olympus Canada participated in a larger fund raising campaign for the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation with many other companies and individuals from across Canada.

We have continued with our team building activities each month which is a great time to use to integrate new employees into Olympus Canada and foster better social interaction between everyone involved.

It is definitely an exciting time to be part of this dynamic and progressive company.
