In this business year following projects are highlighting the environmental activities in Olympus Winter & Ibe GmbH (OWI):

1. At the OWI site in Hamburg, measures resulting from the energy check, the installation of heating and aeration systems, have been finished in this fiscal year.This project had been started in fiscal year 2007, already, in cooperation with the authority for environment and resource protection. Our target for CO₂ Reduction as follows:
a. Installation of a new central-heating system for an existing building (energysaving about 28.000kWh/a)
b. Renewal of the flat roof of an existing building, including the installation of a new roof insulation.
c. Installation of a new, modern central air ventilation system for three areas

2. At the new location in the Czech Republic, investments have been made into the ecological construction of the new building. This represents a foundation for a new eco-friendly production site. The building has been designed as energy class A which is the best class for energy efficiency and ecology aspects. By following environmental installations we have reached the class A status.
a. all glazing has been done with special insulating glazing (triple windows)
b. demand controlled lighting system (Lightning management)
c. reinforced cladding insulation
d. photovoltaic panels
e. solar panels
f. heat pumps
g. compressor heat recycling
