By ensuring that our technology and business activities are in harmony with the environment, we contribute both to society and the environment. Described below is our basic philosophy on the environment as a corporate citizen, together with specific principles and policies designed to put that philosophy into practice through our activities.
Environmental Management
Olympus aims to realize the ideals set forth in its Social IN management philosophy by acting as an environmentally progressive company. We are working to reduce environmental loads in all areas of our business activities through product innovation, manufacturing innovation and transportation innovation.
Product Innovation
As manufacturers, we must ensure not only that products provide superior performance, but also that they will not harm human health and safety or disrupt the vital systems of nature. By creating environmentally-conscious products, we help to maintain social and natural environments in which sustainable development is possible.
Manufacturing Innovation
Described here are some of the initiatives implemented at Olympus Group business sites, especially in relation to the appropriate handling of chemical substances and the prevention of global warming and resource depletion. Through these efforts, Olympus aims to contribute to the prevention and solution of today's increasingly serious global environmental problems.
Transportation Innovation
We are working to reduce environmental loads in a number of ways, including a modal shift to marine transportation, which produces less CO2 emissions, for international transportation. We have also reduced the weight of incidental items included with products and reviewed specifications for assembly packaging.
Environmental Communication
The Olympus Group actively implements environmental initiatives in partnership with stakeholders both inside and outside of the company.
