Water Pollution Prevention in 2004
Sewage Treatment Tank in Tatsuno Plant
Each facility has set voluntary standards for harmful substances (such as Hexavalent chromium compounds and lead), and living environment items such as BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), that are more stringent than required by regulations for discharged water from manufacturing processes. Discharge to public water areas or sewage was carried out after appropriate treatment, and upon clearance of these voluntary standards.
In FY2004, at the Tatsuno Facility, the BOD concentration of the discharge to public water areas was decreased due to increased sewage treatment tank capacity.
