Olympus Eco-Products : Compact Digital Camera µ 770SW/795SW/Stylus 770SW/795SW
This compact digital camera that can be used in any environment features an anti-dust system (*1) and is waterproof (*2) to a depth of 10 meters, shockproof against falls from 1.5m (*3), crush-proof against loads of 100kg (*4), and freeze-proof down to a temperature of minus 10°C (*5). Other features that are sure to enhance your photographic experience include a 3x optical zoom, a hyper-crystal LCD screen, and an LED light.
The addition of these new functions did, unfortunately, necessitate a marginal increase in the quantities of resources used. However, the camera still makes a significant contribution to energy conservation, and Olympus ensured that the quantities of harmful substances used remained within the low levels stipulated by our own management standards.
(*1) Equivalent to Level 6 protection under the JIS standard.
(*2) Equivalent to Level 8 protection under the JIS standard, and means that the camera can be used underwater for the time and at the pressure specified by Olympus.
(*3) The test was conducted using a method based on Olympus quality standards and devised by Olympus on the basis of a U.S. Department of Defense standard for testing military equipment (MIL Standard 81 OF Method 516.5 Selecting Procedure IV). Statements concerning the shock-resistance of this product are not intended to imply any guarantee that the product will never break or malfunction under any circumstances, since impact conditions may vary.

(*5) The number of pictures that can be taken will be reduced at cold temperatures. The minimum temperature at which the Olympus xD Picture Card (optional extra) and the lithium ion battery (included or optional extra) are guaranteed to operate is 0°C. However, tests have shown that these items will operate at minus 10°C when used in conjunction with the µ[mju:] 770SW.

Compared with conventional products, this product consumes about 18% less power when in use. It is possible
to take approximately 220 pictures with packed chargeable batteries for exclusive use.

Hazardous substances-free product
The µ770SW/Stylus 770SW does not use any materials prohibited by the Environment-related Substances Used in Product Control Rules. No polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is used in the electrical insulation of interconnection and structural materials as well, and the lenses are made using eco-glass containing no lead, cadmium or arsenic.
Use of corrugated cardboard for packaging and cushioning
To facilitate recycling, we use only cardboard to package and cushion our products.

Also to facilitate recycling, information about materials is shown on all plastic parts that are large enough to carry labels.
