The compact, lightweight body of the E-510/E-520 digital single-lens camera system with interchangeable lenses has been certified as an "Eco-Product." In addition to 10-megapixel resolution, this camera also features the “Live View” system, which helps photographers to capture unexpected photo opportunities, and the built-in "Image Stabilization" system. There is also a dust reduction system to prevent dust from spoiling images. Even experienced photographers will be impressed by this digital single-lens camera.

While adding new features to this camera, Olympus was also careful to ensure that quantities of harmful substances used remained within the levels stipulated in our own management standards. The result is a camera that combines superior photographic performance with top-notch environmental performance, including a significant contribution to energy conservation through the use of a compact, high-capacity battery that provides sufficient power for 650 shots^*1 on a single charge.

Energy Efficiency
Compared with conventional products, the E-510/E-520 consumes about 38% less power when in use.

Hazardous substances-free product
The E-510/E-520 does not use any materials prohibited by the Environment-related Substances Used in Product Control Rules ,No polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is used in the electrical insulation of interconnection, and the lenses are made using eco-glass containing no lead, cadmium or arsenic.

Use of corrugated cardboard for packaging and cushioning
To facilitate recycling, we use only cardboard to package and cushion our products.

Material Labeling
Also to facilitate recycling, information about materials is shown on all plastic parts that are large enough to carry labels.

LCA Results *
Environmental burdens occurring during distribution account for approximately 50% of all environmental burdens during the life of the product.
