Hazardous substances-free product
does not use any materials prohibited by the Environment-related Substances Used in Product Control Rules, in which the use of certain substances is prohibited: Manufactured using lead-free solder.
Exclusion(*) of hexavalent chromium and lead: No hexavalent chromium or lead were used in the surface treatment of metal parts or in any of the metallic materials.
Exclusion(*) of lead and arsenic: The optical glass used in the lenses and prisms, etc., contain no lead or arsenic.

* The definition of "exclusion" is based on Olympus standards. Some accessories are not covered.

Use of corrugated cardboard for packaging and cushioning
To facilitate recycling, we are increasing the use of corrugated fiberboard to package our products.

Also to facilitate recycling, information about materials is shown on all molded plastic and die cast parts

LCA Results
Environmental burdens throughout the lifetime of the product were verified using product environmental impact assessments based on the Olympus LCA (OLCA) system.
