Olympus Eco-Products: Stereo Microscopes SZX10/SZX16
Stereo microscopes SZX10/SZX16 are ergonomically designed, and equipped with a lighting unit with flat-LED. The ergonomic design makes viewing comfortable. In addition, materials used are designed to meet environmentally conscious demand.
Major Features as Eco-products
Use of Lead-free Eco-glass for Optics
lead-free and arsenic-free Eco-glass are used for all optics, such as lenses and prisms.
Lead-free soldering
Lead-free soldering 100% lead-free soldering is used for our products.
Realization of a product life more than 40 times longer than conventional products
White LED is used as the illumination source to cut electricity consumption in half, a product life
of the lighting unit is extended 40 times compared to conventional products. It contributes to energy-saving and saving resources.
Hexavalent chromium- free surface- treatment
Hexavalent chromium and lead are no longer used for surface-treatment and stock.
Use of Cardboard for packaging materials
We are making packaging materials with cardboard to recycle readily.
Material Identification Marks
Material identification marks are placed on the main molded resin parts and die-cast parts to accelerate recycling.
Environmental impact assessment of Products by LCA
We carried out environmental impact assessment of products by using Olympus LCA, and verified their lifetime environmental loads.
