Olympus has compiled some information that we believe is of particular interest to suppliers.
Q : Do you have a policy governing dealings with suppliers?
A : The Olympus Group Procurement Policy adopted in 2005 governs Olympus' procurement of goods and services needed for the manufacturing of our products. It stipulates new procurement criteria including legal compliance, human rights, labor standards and the prevention of corruption, in addition to conventional criteria of quality, consideration for the environment and the ability to deliver supplies on time.
Q : What cooperation do you seek from suppliers?
A : Olympus requests that our suppliers, who play a pivotal role in our production activity, be familiar with the Olympus Group Procurement Policy. We also prepared a Request to Suppliers to seek their cooperation, so together we can make sustainable society a reality.
Q : Is there any area of environmental concerns that you feel especially important in your procurement activities?
A : As a company emphasizing harmonious relations with society and nature, we encourage green procurement based on the Olympus Group Procurement Policy.
Q : Do you extend your environment-oriented actions to spheres other than purchasing of parts and materials for the products you manufacture?
A : Olympus encourages environmentally-conscious green procurement of goods that we use and consume in the course of our daily business activities, including office equipment, office supplies, lighting equipment and vehicles.
