M-System Camera Unit
The Olympus M-System was initially developed as a system that could be used for a wide range of purposes by assembling different units, each with a single function. This concept had never been applied to a camera system before, and Olympus considered the development of prototype units, including a unit combining a focal plane shutter and mirror box, as well as a finder unit and film back unit. One of the products developed under the M-system was an all-in-one camera with multiple functions. This was the M-1 (OM-1). (Prototype)
