Imaging System Business
With the proliferation of digital cameras, the number of opportunities for people to take pictures in daily life has increased greatly. The convenience offered by digital images, which can be easily edited, printed or sent via email, has become something considered rather commonplace. Further advances in the performance of digital single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras have enabled picturetaking with the sort of high definition and resolution required by professional photographers. For the further development of today's digital imaging culture, Olympus is endeavoring to enrich and extend the picture-taking environment by offering products that enhance the pleasure of picture taking.
E Series Digital SLR Cameras
The Four Thirds System is a standard for digital SLR cameras that provides for both image quality and mobility. Olympus created its E Series interchangeable-lens digital SLR cameras based on the Four Thirds System, designing and developing all bodies, lenses and flashes to be fully compliant with this standard. The high-resolution, straightforward operability and reliability delivered by E Series cameras enable use in all sorts of picture-taking situations for capturing memorable moments with the ultimate in image quality. Arising from a relentless pursuit of high-resolution imaging, Olympus' proprietary Dust Reduction System uses an ultrasonic dust prevention filter to eliminate the problem of dust and debris attaching to the image sensor. Incorporating an array of advanced features in a compact, lightweight body, including image stabilization and the Live View function, which uses a rear panel LCD monitor that enables composition of images while shooting, E Series cameras are suited for an increasingly widespread range of situations. The crisp, clear, high-resolution images delivered through their digital design have made E Series cameras renowned for their ability to impress.
