You, Today
Crawling around, holding on to things as you try to stand,
you were a bundle of energy just a moment ago.
But now it's time for a little rest.
Soon, though, the cry will come - Waaaa!
You'll need refueling again.
Lost in a munching world of baby food,
pushing the overspill into your mouth
with the back of a chubby hand . . .
it's like watching the sun come up
to see you sate your hunger.
You truly are alive.
