On the wonder of photography
One technique I often use is to focus on the details of daily life, because there is nothing to compare with the sense of wonder you experience when you discover a whole new world in an entirely everyday scene. Images of scenic grandeur can be deeply moving, but I also like to treasure the dramatic little discoveries in daily life. To take these images, I simply walked around with a single camera, and shot photos of things that looked interesting to me. One of the things I love about digital is the ability to use post-processing to emphasize emotional elements and communicate my intent.
