Harue Suzuki
Harue Suzuki was born in Japan's Fukushima Prefecture and graduated from Tsukuba University. After working for a department store after graduating, she then joined a publishing company and began to be involved in editorial work. In 1998, Suzuki moved to France; with Paris as her base, she now works as a writer and photographer focusing on the peoples and cultures of Europe.
On the wonder of photography
On the banks of the Seine you can find parks with ponds and trees, and back streets lined with cafes. When I walk the streets of Paris, I always carry a camera with me. Like a Parisienne walking her dog. And then, without any reason necessarily, I release the shutter. There is no calculation or logic involved. Just like when I fell in love with this city at first sight and decided to live my life here, my heart is always three steps ahead of my mind.
