Dear valued OLYMPUS microscope users in Asia, Oceania, Middle-East and Africa
We have recently discovered that the chrome plating on some of our microscope objectives can exhibit cracking or peeling. These objectives were manufactured during the period of January 1996 through October 2000 and may have been purchased by you as a component of OLYMPUS BX, IX and CX series microscopes. The model numbers of the affected objectives are as follows;
For Bright Filed; ACH10X, ACH20X, ACH40X, ACH60X, ACH100X PLAN4x, PLAN10X, PLAN20X, PLAN40X, PLAN100X
For Phase Contrast; ACH10XPH, ACH20XPH, ACH40XPH, ACH100XPH PLAN10XPH, PLAN20XPH, PLAN40XPH, PLAN100XPH
If you have any of the above listed objectives, please inspect the objectives to see if there is any evidence of cracking or peeling in the chrome plating. If there is evidence of deterioration of the chrome plating, please contact our dealers in the country where you are located. Caution should be taken during this inspection as it is possible that you may encounter edges from the cracked or peeling chrome plating.
All objectives exhibiting this deterioration will be replaced or repaired at no charge. We offer our sincerest apology for this inconvenience.
