You will almost feel as if you are really there. The texture
of a flower or tree. The colorful atmosphere of a street crowded with people.
The rush of the wind, the refreshing feeling of running water. All these and
more come to life before your eyes with the new HDPS100 high-definition 100-inch
display system with its stunning image resolution of 4 million pixels. Newly
commercialized following a multitude of requests from many who had been hugely
impressed by our prototype large-screen displays, the HDPS100 system promises
to find applications in a wide variety of settings: fashion or industrial design
presentations; electronic art museum or other exhibitions; even amusement parks.
Its fresh, vivid pictures promise to bring a new rapture to audiences worldwide.
In this series of interviews, we talk to some of the people at Olympus Optical
who helped make this product a reality. We find out more about the development
of the element imaging technology with Yasuhiro Komiya of the Imaging Technology
Department, and we discuss the product development process and results with
