Begins to Tackle the Challenge of the New Management Concept
of SCM

----The Management Systems Division is promoting SCM, the
theme of this
interview. What is the Division up to?
Our Management Systems Division was born out of the Management
Planning Division in April this year. It consists of two groups, the Information
Systems Development Office and the IT Strategy Promotion Office.
As Manager of the Management Systems Division, Mr. Takeuchi
heads the departments associated with our company-wide IT strategy. I am charged
with the task of realizing the foundations of SCM, namely, the Global Post Office
(GPO) and the Global Supply Chain Database (G-SCDB). Ms. Kobayashi of the same
Division primarily fulfils the role of the GPO group leader.
----How many staffers are involved?
Counting myself and one personal assistant, one person managing
the server, and those in charge of systems associated with the GPO host computer,
we have four or five staffers.
Mr. Sanpei is the only participant from an operational division.
It's called the Distribution Promotion Division.
I'm not directly involved with systems development, but I
belong to an operational division that deals with issues associated with the
operations of the G-SCDB. |
