"Why is the sky blue? Why do rainbows appear? What is static electricity? Why do lenses make small things appear bigger? Why do boomerangs come back? Interesting phenomena excite us and stimulate our curiosity. We want know why they happen. Olympus established the "Waku Waku Project" (Exciting Project) to contribute to the future advancement of science and technology by helping children to discover the fascination of science. Researchers and engineers continue to support the program on a voluntary basis. The Waku Waku Project was modeled on the activities of science producer Denjiro Yonemura (a.k.a. Professor Denjiro or Yone-chan). Always a favorite with children, Denjiro Yonemura is regarded with profound respect by those involved in the initiative. We invited him to talk with us.
