Professor Ryoji Noyori
	President of Riken Ryoji Noyori was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1938. After completing his master's degree in 1963 and then a doctorate in engineering at Kyoto University, he became a professor at Nagoya University. In 2001 Professor Noyori received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his work on chirally catalyzed hydrogenation reactions. He has been President of Riken since 2003. In 2006 he became chairman of the government's Education Rebuilding Council
