In charge of designing the E-3's AF, digital image stabilization edits, and flash. Approached his development work in a truly practical manner, accompanying professional photographer on their field assignments to experience for himself the problems they face. He accepts severe comments coolly, keeping his inner strengths hidden. He spends his free time tending his roses for relaxation. He muses that they are as much trouble as the development of the E-3. Roses bloom once a year for about ten days in spring. The rest of the time he looks after them. He has his own unique views on gardening, too.
