Olympus to Launch Regional Headquarters Company for Asia and Oceania in April
-Based in Hong Kong, the new company will strengthen management and business infrastructure and support regional business activities-
Olympus Corporation of Asia Pacific Limited, the regional headquarters company of Olympus Corporation (President: Tsuyoshi Kikukawa) for the Asia-Oceania region, will commence operations on April 1, 2011 in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
As Olympus Corporation's regional headquarters for Asia and Oceania, the new company will have management responsibility for the entire region, and its role will include the development of business infrastructure. It aims to contribute to business growth by improving management infrastructure in the region, by providing strategic operational support for manufacturing and sales companies, by strengthening business structures, and by enhancing the Olympus Group's capabilities for timely, fine-tuned management in Asia, Oceania and India, including the rapidly growing Chinese market.
Olympus is currently implementing its 2010 Corporate Strategic Plan, the slogan for which is "Advancing to the Next Stage of Globalization." The priority goals under this plan, which covers the period from March 2011 to March 2015, are to develop globally competitive business structures, and to strengthen the Olympus Group's business presence in the markets of China and Asia. Olympus Corporation of Asia Pacific Limited will contribute for the realization of the basic policy through being a comprehensive support organization for activities throughout China and Asia.
