Olympus Optical Co., Ltd. (President: Masatoshi Kishimoto) is pleased to announce the ET-MC25G, a direct connection cable that links the FMD-250W, the latest model in the Eye-Trek face-mounted display (FMD) series, to PlayStation 2.
The FMD-250W has a display unit weighing 95g with an ultra-compact and lightweight 38g-control unit that features easy use and simple design and fits in your hand. It produces the equivalent of a 62-inch (16:9 ratio) screen. The ET-MC25G direct connection cable has been developed exclusively for PlayStation 2. It can be connected to PlayStation 2's AV MULTI OUT connector enabling to output audio and video signals* and power to FMD-250W using a USB connector. Without an AC-adapter supply, it can be directly connected simply and smoothly.

Based on joint development with Pioneer Electronic Corp., and Toshiba Corp., Olympus has made it possible to directly connect the FMD-250W to the portable DVD player, PDV-20 (Pioneer Electronic Corp.), and the portable DVD-ROM/video player, MED200AS (Toshiba Corp.) in an effort to promote the concept of "Mobile Theater". Video can now be enjoyed naturally in the mobile environment and also in rooms at home which have no television.

The addition of the ET-MC25G, the direct connection cable for PlayStation 2, to the ET-MC02P and ET-MC02T direct connection cables for the portable DVD players further promotes easy use and enhances the applications of the FMD-250W. With these innovations, the market will surely continue to expand.
* The video signal is an S video signal.
