Olympus Optical Co., Ltd. ( President : Masatoshi Kishimoto ) is pleased to announce the GIGAMO Drive TURBO MO MO133S1S designed for 1.3 GB disks. This latest addition to the high-performing TURBO MO series of 3.5-inch magneto-optical disk drives delivers the industry's fastest * disk rotation speed of 6,000 rpm ( 3,670 rpm for 1.3 GB disk ) and highest * data transfer rate up to 6.8 MB/sec.
TURBO MO MO133S1S is a new product that meets the GIGAMO standard and is designed for 1.3 GB disks. It incorporates the Super Tracking System, which combines the existing SFP pickup with a turbo seek algorithm for even greater performance, and a 2 MB Multi-Optimized Cache, which optimizes the operation of this high-speed drive in both Windows and Mac Operation System environments. Boasting the industry's fastest * disk rotation speed of 6,000 rpm ( 3,670 rpm for 1.3 GB disks ) and highest* data transfer rate up to 6.8 MB/sec., this drive leads the industry. It's a professional model catering to the needs of high end users.

The body color is metallic silver, neatly matching most notebook computers. And it's also compact, with 42% smaller volume than the company's existing 640 MB model, the TURBO MO 640III. This desk-space saving disk weighs only 715 g.

The highly-acclaimed dust-proof mechanism of the existing TURBO MO series is built in, assuring outstanding dust protection and reliability, and making air filters and lens cleaners unnecessary.

User-friendly Setup
Setup requires no troublesome settings. Only one SCSI ID switch is required for a setup, making connection extremely simple as well. There is a built-in active auto-terminator, which eliminates the need for difficult settings. The back of the case also has an LED lamp for checking the termination status at a glance.
Direct Overwriting and Full Disk Compatibility
Every model of the TURBO MO series is compatible with direct overwrite ( OW ) disks. When a direct OW disk is used, the writing speed is approximately 50% faster than writing to a conventional disk. It also features full backward compatibility for both reading and writing, enabling selection of appropriate disk for every need.
