Summary
Olympus Optical Co., Ltd. is pleased to introduce the CAMEDIA C-100, a compact digital camera with advanced new circuitry that assures ultra-low power consumption for extended operation even when using alkaline batteries. It also features a 1.31-megapixel CCD, six flash modes, and a bright optical viewfinder for easy framing and shooting. Digital features include easy Motion JPEG shooting and monochrome/sepia editing, making it an easy-to-use entry-level digital camera that offers excellent cost-performance.
Easy Operation And Long Battery Life
The new CAMEDIA C-100 is an entry-level camera designed for people who until now have held off on buying a digital camera because they were concerned about cost and ease of use. It features a bright optical viewfinder and an icon-based menu for easy operation, as well as advanced camera features such as six flash modes and spot metering. As a result, it makes high-quality digital images extremely easy to take.

Newly developed electronic circuitry significantly reduces power requirements, allowing users to take over 10,000* images with a single set of AA alkaline batteries. When using the optional CR-V3 lithium battery pack, over 18,000* images can be taken. The camera's lens was specifically designed to enhance the performance characteristics of the 1.31-megapixel CCD, and assures high-quality images that are ideal for sending as e-mail attachments, viewing on a computer or printing on A6-size paper.

Digital features include Motion JPEG filming, monochrome and sepia imaging, image rotation and digital editing, and digital tele mode. A USB cable is included with the camera for easy file downloading to a personal computer. In addition, the camera has 1MB of built-in memory that can be used for emergency image storage when the memory card is full.

With its outstanding ease-of-use, practicality and cost-performance, the CAMEDIA C-100 is perfect not only for first-time buyers, but also for business users who wish to take advantage of its high-volume shooting capabilities.

* Continuous shooting test conditions: SQ mode, LCD monitor off, flash off, no image display or file downloading. When shooting in normal test conditions, approximately 200 photos can be taken with a single set of AA alkaline batteries. Normal shooting test conditions: repeated 2-shot shutter release followed by longer than10 minutes of rest, HQ mode, LCD monitor on when shooting, flash used on 50% of shots, no image display or file downloading.
Main Features
High-Volume Shooting With AA Alkaline Batteries
Newly developed electronic circuitry significantly reduces power requirements and maximizes battery life. Shooting continuously on a single set of AA alkaline batteries (included), users can take over 10,000* images; shooting continuously using the optional CR-V3 lithium battery pack, they can take over 18,000* photos. As a result, they can enjoy high-volume shooting without worrying about running out of batteries. An AC adapter, NiMH batteries and NiCd batteries are optionally available and can also be used to power the camera.

Full Range Of Advanced Camera Features
Advanced camera features include six flash modes (Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, Off, Fill-in, Slow-Synchronization and Red-Eye Reduction + Slow-Synchronization), Spot mode for precise exposure control in difficult lighting conditions, and +-2EV exposure compensation settable in 1/2-step increments.

1.31-Megapixel CCD And High-Performance Lens
Superb image quality is assured by a 1/3.2-inch, 1.31-megapixel CCD paired with a high-performance fixed focal length lens (equivalent to a 35mm lens on a conventional 35mm film camera) that is specifically designed to maximize the CCD's performance characteristics.

Versatile And Easy-To-Use Digital Functions
A wide range of easy-to-use digital functions is offered. Captured images can be saved as separate monochrome or sepia-tone images, or rotated or enlarged for easy viewing. There is also a function that allows users to save a duplicate of an image in a smaller size to facilitate sending as an e-mail attachment. In addition, there are 1.6x, 2x, 3.2x, and 4x digital tele modes (3.2x and 4x available only in SQ mode or smaller), and a Motion JPEG mode for capturing moving images.

Storage-Class USB Support For Easy Downloading
Storage-class USB* support allows easy downloading of image files via the included USB cable. In addition, image files in the camera can be manipulated using Windows Explorer(R) or other third-party software applications.
* Supported operating systems: Windows(R) 98/Windows 98SE; Windows 2000 Professional; Windows Me(R); Mac(R) OS 9.0-9.1.

1MB Built-In Memory For Image Storage
Thanks to the camera's built-in 1MB memory, it is even possible to shoot when no memory card is loaded, or in emergency situations when the user suddenly realizes that the memory card is full.

Stylish Body Design With Lens Barrier
Outstanding portability and ease of operation are assured by the stylish, compact body and sliding lens barrier, which functions as an on/off switch in addition to protecting the lens. Portability and handling ease are further enhanced by the camera's low weight - only 190g - and compact dimensions - 123(W) x 65(H) x 44.5(D)mm.
