High-Performance 3x Zoom Lens
Featuring a 6-group, 8-element configuration that includes two glass aspherical elements, the compact, lightweight, high-performance 3x optical zoom lens suppresses aberration and variations in peripheral transmissibility, and offers the highest resolving power in its class. It has a zoom range of 5.4 - 16.2mm (equivalent to 35 - 105mm on a conventional 35mm film camera) that can be combined with the seamless digital zoom to achieve a maximum of 9x telephoto power.

2.11-Megapixel CCD
The imaging element is a 1/2.7-inch, 2.11-megapixel CCD. Because the lens is specifically designed to maximize its performance, the CCD offers the highest definition in its class, and achieves outstanding image quality.

Storage-Class USB Interface
A storage-class USB interface and USB cable are provided for easy downloading of image files to a personal computer. In addition, image files in the camera can be manipulated using Windows Explorer(R) or other third-party software applications.

Supported operating systems: Windows(R) 98/Windows 98SE; Windows 2000 Professional; Windows Me(R); Mac(R) OS 9.0-9.1. |
|
Fast Response Time
A high-performance image-processing engine assures quick image storage and display. In HQ mode, image storage takes only about 2.5 seconds, and display takes only about 1 second. Thanks to the camera's 8MB buffer memory, users can take pictures at the rate of approximately one shot per second.

Carefree Shooting With AA Alkaline Batteries
AA alkaline batteries, which are included with the camera, allow users to take approximately 2,500* images when shooting continuously. When shooting continuously with the optional CR-V3 battery pack, users can take approximately 6,000* images. As a result, users can enjoy carefree shooting without worrying about battery life. An AC adapter, NiCd batteries, and NiMH batteries are optionally available and can also be used to power the camera.

Continuous shooting test conditions: SQ mode, LCD monitor off, flash off, no zoom, image display or file downloading. When shooting normally with AA alkaline batteries, approximately 150 images can be taken; with lithium batteries, approximately 400 images can be taken. Normal shooting test conditions: repeated 2-shot shutter release with one round-trip zoom extension/retraction followed by longer than 10 minutes of rest, HQ mode, LCD monitor on when shooting, flash used on 50% of shots, no image display or file downloading. |
|
Compact Design With Lens Barrier For Enhanced Portability
Compact body design and a sliding lens barrier ensure outstanding portability. The lens barrier functions as the camera's on/off switch, and when closed, protects the lens for worry-free carrying.
|
Dioptric Adjustment
Dioptric adjustment allows the viewfinder focus to be adjusted to suit the photographer's eyesight.
|
1.8 Images Per Second Continuous Shooting
A Continuous mode with a shooting speed of 1.8 images per second is offered, and can be used at all image-quality settings except TIFF.
|
Six Flash Modes
Versatile flash modes include Auto (in low light and backlight), Red-Eye Reduction, Off, Fill-in, Slow-Synchronization and Red-Eye Reduction + Slow-Synchronization.
|
ISO Sensitivity Settings
The CCD's ISO sensitivity can be adjusted to facilitate flash-free indoor photography or eliminate blurriness caused by camera shake at high telephoto settings. Users can choose Auto (approx. ISO 100, automatically rising as necessary), or fixed settings that are approximately equivalent to ISO 100, ISO 200 and ISO 400.
|
Two Metering Modes
Proprietary Olympus Digital ESP metering compares light readings from the center of the frame with readings from the surrounding area, ensuring correct exposure even in backlight or when there is a big difference in subject and background brightness. In addition, users are offered the choice of using Spot mode to set exposure values to suit the center of the frame.
|
Preset White Balance
In addition to Auto White Balance, pre-set white balance settings are provided for daylight, overcast, tungsten light and fluorescent light. As a result, users can obtain correct color balance even in lighting conditions are difficult for the Auto White Balance function to handle.
|
Exposure Compensation
+-2EV exposure compensation is offered, settable in 1/2-step increments.
|
Sharpness And Contrast Settings
Both sharpness and contrast settings are provided. Sharpness can be set to Hard, Normal or Soft; contrast can be set to High, Normal or Low.
|
Easy-To-Use Digital Editing Functions
A range of easy-to-use digital functions is also offered. Captured images can be saved as separate monochrome or sepia-tone images, and there is a resizing function that allows users to save a duplicate as a 320 x 240 image to facilitate sending as an e-mail attachment.
|
Easy Motion JPEG Movies
Users can also create simple QuickTime(tm) Motion JPEG movie clips at 15 frames per second. 15 seconds of full-motion video can be recorded at 320 x 240 pixels, and up to 66 seconds can be recorded at 160 x 120 pixels.
QuickTime is a trademark of Apple Computer Inc.
|
Digital 3x Zoom
3x digital zoom is offered, and can be combined seamlessly with the 3x optical zoom to achieve a maximum of 9x zoom power.
|
Enlarged-View Display
When viewing images, they can be displayed as 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, or 3x enlargements.
|
Video Output Terminal
Images can be viewed directly from the camera on a TV or video monitor by using the video output terminal. A video cable is also included.
|
Optional Waterproof Housing
An optional waterproof housing, the PT-009 Protector, will also be available for the CAMEDIA C-200ZOOM in August. Constructed of rugged polycarbonate resin, the housing is waterproof to a depth of 30 meters, and allows the camera to be used in extreme weather conditions, at construction sites, and even underwater.
