3. Large jogdial for easy operations despite the compact, lightweight body |
The VN-3600 and VN-900 both comes with a jogdial that puts all of the playback functions ( playback, stop, fast forward, rewind ) on a single button for ease of use despite the compact, lightweight design. These units have footprints about 30% smaller than those of the VN-180 / VN-90, and their rugged metal clips make them easy to carry around in a pocket. Both units have two-color combination designs, the VN-3600 in silver and pearl white, the VN-900 in gray and silver. The acrylic front panel adds a stylish flair.

4. Voice activated recording ( VCVA ) |
Built-in VCVA ( Variable Control Voice Actuator ) automatically starts recording when a voice is picked up and stop recording one second after the voice stops to conserve memory and battery life, prevent time loss during playback, and allow longer recordings. Unlike tape recorders, there is no time lost while the unit starts up, so virtually nothing of the recording sequence lost.
|
5. Convenient folder and file management functions |
A new C folder joins the A, B and S folders found on earlier models. Each folder holds up to 100 audio files, and recorded files can be moved between A, B and C for easier data management according to use and importance. The S folder organizes files by date, with up to 15 per date ( 100 total ) for convenient recording of daily schedules or progress reports.
|
6. Alarm playback |
The Voice-Trek VN-3600 and VN-900 will sound alarms at preset times. The "message alarm" function allows them to play back a pre-recorded voice or message file if a button is pushed while the alarm sounds ( up to 20 messages can be set ). The "Schedule Alarm" function plays back all of the messages in the S folder set for the current date, enabling the recorders to serve as "voice schedulers."
|
7. Fast playback and convenient stop functions |
Hold the playback button down for one second or more and playback speed will increase by approximately 30% over normal for quick checking of recorded contents and faster playbacks.
The stop function now halts playback at the point at which the button was pressed unlike the VN-180 / VN-90, and allows playback to resume from that point, adding new convenience to the playback of long files.

8. Easy to read LCD display |
The display button allows users to select information to be displayed on the LCD display in Stop, Record and Playback modes. |
