Olympus Imaging Corporation (President: Haruo Ogawa) is pleased to announce that the Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45mm F1.8, which is a small, single focal length lens adapts to the Micro Four-Thirds System specifications, receives "Editors Award" of Japan Camera Grand Prix 2012 by the Japan Camera Journal Press Club.

The judging committee said, "Generally, the Micro Four-Thirds System lenses hardly offer smaller out-of-focus images than larger image sensors such as 35mm and APS-C formats. However, the soft and beautiful out-of-focus images this lens deliver is superb."
In addition, they judged the MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) mechanism covering both still and motion image shootings offers high-speed, smooth, quiet and high-definition auto focus capability and the ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating applied on the lens surface is also a beneficial feature which delivers clear picture with less ghost images and flare in the backlight situations. In appreciation of the lens with these benefits available at a reasonable price, "Editors Award" went to this product.
