"OLYMPUS Tough TG-1" Compact Digital Camera

Winner of the European All Weather Camera 2012-2013 award

The Tough series is a camera equipped with the three tough qualities, waterproof/dust proof, shockproof, and freezeproof, for worry-free shooting under harsh environments that other cameras could not endure. As the OLYMPUS Tough flagship model, the Tough TG-1 boasts excellent high-speed performance along with the series' toughest features.

In the words of the EISA jury, "The Olympus TG-1 TOUGH is an outstanding outdoor camera … guaranteed to be shockproof (to 2m*), waterproof (to 12m*), crushproof (to 100kg*) and freezeproof (down to -10℃*) … The 12-Megapixel backlit CMOS sensor, together with the TruePic VI processor and fast 25-100mm** f2-4.9 zoom lens, delivered excellent-quality pictures and low levels of noise."

* Waterproof according to IEC standard publication 529 IPX8. Shockproof figure equivalent to MIL Standard. According to Olympus test conditions.
** 35mm camera equivalent.

Winner of the European Compact System Camera 2012-2013 award

The new generation system camera, the OLYMPUS OM-D, features a compact, lightweight design that's fully compliant with the Micro Four Thirds System standard like the popular PEN Series models, Whereas the PEN Series inherited the convenience, simplicity, and high image quality offered by the PEN Series in the film age, the OLYMPUS OM-D has inherited the tradition of a true system SLR from the OM Series. The OLYMPUS OM-D is designed for serious camera buffs who want to make full use of interchangeable lenses and shoot photographic masterpieces by looking into the viewfinder, without having to worry about the weather or environmental conditions.

Of the OM-D the jury said, "The super-fast, single-shot autofocus and the exceptional 1.4-million-dot electronic viewfinder will make you believe you're shooting with an SLR." In addition to the "excellent picture quality", the jury also praised the OM-D's touch-sensitive flip-out OLED screen, advanced 5-axis image stabilisation, weather-resistant body and Art Filters, plus the fact that it is "extremely comfortable to hold".
