The Olympus Group has pledged to donate funds in support of the many victims and areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines on November 8. Contributions from Olympus Group companies and employees, the latter matched by some companies, are expected to amount to about 10 million yen (about USD 100,000) once the funds are collected.

The entity to which the money will be donated is now being determined.

Olympus expresses its sincere condolences to all those who have suffered from the disaster and its very best wishes for speedy recovery in the affected areas.
