Between the years of 2012 and 2016, we rebuilt Olympus by strengthening our business and restoring trust in the company. Thereafter, under our Medium-term Management Plan (16CSP), we focused on establishing sustainable growth by positioning Olympus to become a leading global player in the medical field.
As of January 2019, we launched our Transform Olympus plan for sustainable long-term growth as a truly global medtech company. The plan provides crucial groundwork needed to enable Olympus to generate value for shareholders. We will rebuild our governance, global management, personnel structures, and strengthen our management structure as a global company. In particular, by restructuring our mainstay Medical Business, we expect to evolve as a company and accelerate growth through reducing costs and expanding earnings.
Our aim is to maximize corporate value and meet the expectations of shareholders with a total return ratio of 30 percent.
This year, as we celebrate our 100th anniversary, we have embarked on our full-fledged implementation of Transform Olympus with the aim of building a corporate culture to be competitive and performance-driven, focusing on creating value to our customers, to be capable of sustainable growth for the next 100 years.
