Event Outline | For a three-day period from October 26 to 28, the Olympus Museum hosted a work exploration session for second graders from Hachioji Daiichi Junior High School, who were there to discover how work can be enjoyable, but also how one's job is something important that requires perseverance and lots of effort. The Museum has hosted similar work-related sessions since 2013. This year's session covered a range of activities, from a business etiquette course to photo-shooting practice, and the students were asked to perform certain tasks usually carried out by museum attendants, prepare articles for internal publications, and so on. The students voiced their surprise at the difficulties they experienced while serving as attendants. When asked at the end of the session about any personal changes, some students noted an improvement in their ability to speak aloud and to express opinions to others, as well as a diminished fear of talking to people. |
