Olympus Corporation and The Olympus Health Insurance Association held a seminar to encourage receipt of gynecological screening for Olympus female employees and family members. Olympus recommends employees and family members to receive cancer screenings, but compared with those for stomach and colon cancer, gynecological screenings have a low take-up rate. Accordingly, we invited a person with experience of early-stage breast cancer to give a seminar and discuss her own experience regarding the importance of cancer screenings and how to fit them into work schedules. One participant commented, "Even if you're normally healthy, you never know when you'll become ill, so I could feel how important it is to receive regular screenings. Also, it's essential to tell people around you about this important matter, so I plan to take the initiative as an Olympus employee."
