Olympus Initiatives in Europe, Middle East and Africa

“Gender and Life Priority”

Olympus is committed to increasing the representation of women in leadership positions overall.
A focus on psychological safety in feedback conversations for all employees, as well as a female talent pool and a female mentoring program, will help us to achieve our goal. In addition, we strengthen our capabilities in inclusive recruitment, for example through trainings.

“Nationality and Culture”

Recognizing the importance of diversity in nationality and culture, Olympus aims to ensure equitable access to opportunities regardless of an employee's background. Existing tools and trainings support us to create a workplace where every employee can feel valued, respected, and empowered.

Due to the cultural and demographic diversity among the countries, most entities are also driving meaningful local DEI initiatives, such as inclusive language, unconscious bias awareness measures, trainings, expert talks on endometriosis or neurodiversity and particular campaigns against racism and against sexism. To learn from each other, there is an exchange of best practices at international level.

“Inclusive environment”

Creating an inclusive environment is a key element of the Olympus' DEI strategy. Our company acknowledges that psychological safety is fundamental to fostering effective collaboration and encourages all employees to speak up.

To monitor progress in this area, Olympus will measure improvements thanks to dedicated questions in employee engagement surveys. Furthermore, our leaders participate in mandatory DEI trainings and have access to further resources to develop themselves and their teams in the areas of DEI.
