Olympus Museum

The history of Olympus began in 1919 with the development and manufacture of microscopes. Building on the optical technologies cultivated through microcopes, the company later expanded into photographic lenses and entered the camera business. Olympus also successfully developed the world’s first practical gastrocamera, marking its entry into the medical field.
Over the decades, Olympus evolved into a comprehensive optical manufacturer and is now making a new history as a global medical technology company focused on healthcare.
At the Olympus Museum, visitors can explore representative products and technologies created over more than 100 years of innovation.
