Olympus Korea Proud to be Recognised as a Family-Friendly Workplace

In December 2022, Olympus Korea was selected as a "Family-friendly Company" by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family open in new window, in recognition of its contributions to work-family balance among its employees. The "Family-friendly Certification" is a system where the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to companies and public institutions that run family-friendly models and provide various support programs for childbirth and childcare, flexible working systems, and family-friendly workplace culture.

The evaluation process included a document review, an online satisfaction survey for employees, and an on-site evaluation that included interviews with top management and employees. Throughout these processes, Olympus Korea was highly praised for its healthy company culture and work-life balance.

One of the employment benefits noted by Olympus Korea was its operation of "Golden Week," in which all employees take a week off during the week of the company's founding anniversary in October. Many employees highlighted in an interview process that they felt they could fully recharge during this period. Additionally, Olympus Korea encourages employees to use 100% of their annual leave and offers a flexible work system and the option to work from home three days a week, which will be expanded to four days a week starting in fiscal year 2024.

Olympus Korea also strives to support pregnant and working mothers in experiencing a happy workplace and family life without interrupting their careers due to childbirth and childcare.

The certification is valid until December 14th, 2025, and the certification period will be extended and evaluated based on the continuation of a family-friendly workplace culture.
