| Event Outline | Olympus' headquarters hosted a family day, inviting the families of Olympus employees with the aim of familiarizing them with the company and the work of their family members. In addition to a presentation of the Olympus products produced by each business unit, there was an Endoscope Kids Class and Eco Kids Class for the children in attendance, as well as a Wakuwaku Science Class for Kids. In the Endoscope Kids Class, the participants learned about the history and roles of endoscopes and enjoyed an opportunity to touch and operate the endoscope system and treatment tools, which are used in combination with an endoscope for treatments. The participants developed a greater understanding of endoscopes and how they contribute to society, while still having fun throughout the session, as evidenced by their post-session comments such as "Having touched an endoscope for the first time, I know how it works now," and "I learned about a variety of treatment tools and their functions." The Eco Kids Class, which is designed to teach children about sustainable living, was offered in two parts: "Let's Learn about Global Warming with an Environment Quiz on CO2" and "Let's Learn about the 3Rs with an Environment Quiz on the 3Rs." Some participants already knew about global warming and the 3Rs, so the quizzes were an exciting time for everyone involved. Various opinions were voiced by participants, such as; "A reusable shopping bag should be brought when shopping to avoid using a store-provided plastic bag." |
