April 19, 2022

Olympus Corporation (“Olympus”) today donated 500,000 (USD) to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to provide humanitarian relief for victims and refugees of the crisis in Ukraine and affected neighboring countries.

As a global medtech company committed to Our Purpose of making people's lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, from early March, we immediately mobilized donation efforts to provide humanitarian support in Ukraine and neighboring regions. Olympus condemns acts of violence, and our thoughts are with those affected by the war.

We selected the IFRC as the recipient of the donation for its globally established network to provide the required humanitarian support. The IFRC is supporting the response of the Red Cross National Societies in close coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross. Our donation is planned to be utilized in the following key areas: healthcare services, water systems, sanitation and hygiene services, protection of people, and infection prevention.

Acting in accordance with our corporate philosophy, Olympus will continue to provide customers and patients with medical solutions for treating serious diseases, while complying with the global call for sanctions to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. Since the end of March, we have suspended capital investments and sales of our Scientific Solutions portfolio in Russia.

Olympus and its employees around the world will continue to provide support through international humanitarian efforts, including donations by our regional entities and employees around the world. We sincerely hope for a peaceful resolution as soon as possible.
