TOKYO, May 9, 2025 - Olympus Corporation (Olympus) has released the latest installment of its "True to Life Stories," featuring stories of how Olympus is contributing to making people's lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling through advanced medical technologies and solutions. The latest story highlights Kathleen Wiltraut, an employee of Olympus Corporation of the Americas, who was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer at the age of 60.
Rectal cancer develops in the cells of the rectum, the lower part of the large intestine, and is often characterized by symptoms like changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, and unexplained weight loss. "Through this experience, I have become a more positive person," reflects Kathleen, who overcame the difficult treatment and now advocates for early screening. In this True to Life story, she shares her experience and what she learned from it.
Olympus launched the global brand message "True to Life" in December 2021 and has been subsequently implementing various initiatives to raise its brand awareness as a global MedTech company.
