TOKYO, July 1, 2025 - Olympus Corporation (Olympus), a global MedTech company committed to making people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, today announced that Olympus Vietnam Co., Ltd. (OVNC), an Olympus group company, has achieved 100% renewable energy usage for the period from July 2024 to March 2025. This achievement is verified through the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC), an internationally recognized certification administered by the International Tracking Standard Foundation opens in new window (I-TRACK).

OVNC has been gradually shifting to renewable energy through various initiatives, including the implementation of an onsite corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)1 model that utilizes rooftop space at the facility. Building on these efforts, OVNC has now achieved full renewable electricity coverage for its business activities. These initiatives are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 4,800 tons, equivalent to around 10% of Olympus’ total emissions. Olympus has already converted all electricity used at its domestic development and manufacturing sites2 to renewable energy, and this achievement brings the company another step closer towards its goal of carbon neutrality. OVNC will continue to utilize I-REC and promote further CO2 reduction efforts, contributing to the realization of a carbon neutral society and circular economy.

1 A contractual arrangement in which electricity consumers purchase renewable energy power directly from power generators. In the on-site PPA model, power generation facilities are installed on the customer's premises, roof, or other space.

2 Excluding some service locations, some sales locations, etc.
