Olympus Corporation (Olympus), a global MedTech company committed to making people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, has been recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader 2025 by CDP1, an international non-profit organization. This distinction is awarded to companies that earn the highest score of “A” in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating (SER). With this, Olympus has earned this achievement for a second consecutive year.

The Supplier Engagement Rating evaluates how effectively companies work with their suppliers to address climate change issues. Companies receiving the highest rating are recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders. This recognition is a result of Olympus’ strong management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout its entire supply chain (Scope 32) and its proactive engagement with business partners.

Olympus has identified "Contribution to a Carbon Neutral Society and Circular Economy" as one of its materiality issues and is working toward the goal of achieving net-zero GHG emissions across its entire supply chain (Scopes 1, 2, and 32) by the fiscal year ending March 2040.

As part of its initiatives to reduce GHG emissions throughout the supply chain, Olympus has been actively engaging with its business partners. To date, the company has requested more than 160 suppliers to set specific GHG emission reduction targets, resulting in over 40% of these suppliers successfully establishing such targets. Olympus believes that its high level of Scope 3 management capability and these concrete engagement efforts led to this high SER evaluation.

With Our Purpose of “Making people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling,” Olympus strives to realize a sustainable society and a healthy environment. We will continue to work closely with our suppliers to further reduce environmental impact across the entire supply chain, contributing to a sustainable future as a global MedTech company.
