||A group of students from Senior High School of Kogakuin University’s extracurricular automotive club paid a visit to the Olympus R&D Center at Utsuki, Tokyo. The students, who are planning to compete in a solar car race, were thrilled to see and interact with Olympus’ original solar car, the ORS-20, and attentively listened to lectures on the structure, technology and operation of solar cars given by the members of the Olympus RS solar car team. Established in 1999 at Olympus’ Hachioji Facility by employees with an interest in solar vehicles, Olympus RS has, on multiple occasions, competed in and won the Suzuka Solar Car Race (four-hour endurance division) that is held at the Suzuka Circuit racing course in Mie Prefecture as part of the FIA Electric & New Energy Championship.
