| Event Outline | Olympus organized the Endoscope Kids Class in Bangkok to give students a deeper understanding of how Japanese medical technology is helping to solve healthcare problems in Thailand. The class, which was supported with official development assistance from Japan, was organized in collaboration with the Thailand Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Thai-Japanese Association School in Bangkok. Students were invited to operate endoscopes to learn how they are used to perform examinations and treatments, including surgeries. They also learned how Olympus provides endoscope training to doctors in emerging markets through industry-academia-government initiatives. Among many favorable comments heard after the class, one student said, "The program helped me define my goal of becoming a doctor." Going forward, Olympus will continue to utilize its advanced products in support of educational initiatives in Thailand. |
