Event Outline In partnership with the Thailand Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Thai-Japanese Association School of Bangkok, Olympus hosted the school's third Endoscope Kids Class. As in the previous two years, the class was offered in line with the school's educational syllabus on Japan's ODA (Official Development Assistance) initiatives, and was designed to familiarize students with how Japan's medical technology contributes to solving the health and medical challenges faced by Thailand. Through a lecture given by Olympus staff and a visit to Olympus T-TEC (Thai - Training and Education Center), the students learned about the mechanisms and roles of endoscopes and the importance of early detection for treating cancer. The students also got a chance to operate endoscopes, surgical laparoscopes and treatment devices specifically built to help train medical professionals. The students' interest in the medical field only grew stronger as they struggled during their first experience with these rarely seen devices. Olympus remains committed to providing learning opportunities to young people, who will one day shape our future, through programs that utilize the products Olympus creates for the benefit of society.
