Event Outline At the 62nd national convention of the Japan Society of Technology Education (JSTE), Dr. Toshifumi Yuji, a JSTE member and Associate Professor of Education at the University of Miyazaki, gave a speech entitled "Proposal for Incorporating Bioengineering into Technology Curricula at the Junior High School Level." In his speech, Dr. Yuji discussed classwork which had utilized the content of Olympus' Endoscope Kids Class. Dr. Yuji used the content of the classwork given at Yoshida Junior High School in Yokohama in January 2019 as a specific example to demonstrate how the use of Olympus' endoscopes had helped students learn the difference between analog and digital and grasp how the progress made in information technology equipment had impacted lives. The January class was developed based on advice from Dr. Koshi Ueno of the National Institute for Educational Policy Research and conducted with the assistance of Dr. Yuji. The presentation drew a great deal of interest from the educators in the audience, as evidenced by an active Q&A session which saw a series of questions regarding how to conduct similar classes across Japan.
